Area Chart Race

Animate stacked area charts from your CSV data. Switch between stacked and percentage mode and play it fullscreen. Your data stays local.

How It Works

Load your CSV data

Paste CSV into the text box or drop a file above it, then click Load Data. Same CSV format as the other chart race tools. First column is time labels, remaining columns are numeric series.

Watch areas stack up

Press play or Space. Stacked areas grow as the animation advances: each band's thickness is its value and the top of the stack is the total. Switch to 100% mode to see composition.

Customize and present

In the gear menu, toggle between stacked and percentage modes, show or hide boundary lines, and choose a color palette. Press f or the fullscreen button to present fullscreen.

FAQ

Stacked mode shows absolute values — you see both individual growth and total growth. 100% mode normalizes everything to percentages, highlighting composition changes and market share shifts.
Yes. Toggle the Lines checkbox in the gear menu (on by default) to show or hide the lines between stacked areas, making boundaries clearer.
No, the tool has no export or download. Press f for fullscreen, where the controls and cursor hide 1.2 seconds into playback, and screen-record that view.
No. All processing happens in your browser. Your data never leaves your machine.
